FAQs

GENERAL:

How do I update my address?
You can email us your new mailing and/or billing address at communio.ea@gmail.com.

How do I update my credit card information for my upcoming automatic renewal?
There are a few ways you can do this:
1) Re-subscribe through our website (click on the green “Subscribe” tab above). If you purchase an automatically renewing subscription, we will reset your automatic renewal on our end.
2) Call us at 202-526-0251 and let us know your new card number and expiration date.
3) Email us at communio.ea@gmail.com and we will update the card on your account. After we have done this, we will delete the email.

How do I find out whether I have an automatically renewing subscription?
Since there is no way currently to check on your subscription on our website, please send us an email at communio.ea@gmail.com. You can also check your inbox for the last receipt of your Communio subscription purchase, which will indicate the kind of subscription you purchased.

I have an automatically renewing subscription. Why did I get a renewal notice?
We send renewal notices to all our subscribers once their current subscription has ended. This does not mean that you do not have an automatic renewal coming up. The reason for this is that our software does not allow us currently to distinguish between subscribers who have an automatic renewal and those who do not. If you do have an automatic renewal, however, we will send you a separate email shortly before that renewal takes place to let you know.

Can I buy a single issue or article digitally?
You are now able to purchase Communio’s catalogue currently available on Project MUSE digitally. To do so, please visit https://muse.jhu.edu/pub/563/journal/884.

SUBSCRIPTIONS:

Which issue will my subscription start with?
Print: You will receive 4 issues (1 volume/1 year) total. New subscriptions and renewals will always begin with the forthcoming issue. The current issue will not be included in your subscription. If you would like to purchase the current issue or previous issues, please add them to your cart separately. No exceptions will be made.
Digital: Digital access is calendar-based, which means that access will be provided for one calendar year based on the date the subscription is processed. Please note that digital access may or may not provide access to the same print issues included with your subscription (depending on our publication schedule); however, digital access will include the entire catalogue of Communio currently available.

How does the digital component of my subscription work? How do I activate my digital subscription?
Digital access is calendar-based, which means that access will be provided for one calendar year based on the date the subscription is processed. (This means that your digital subscription may not give you access to the print issues included with your subscription. However, you will have access to the entire catalogue of Communio currently available.) Since access is given manually for each subscriber, please allow for at least one week of processing time. Access to the journal will be provided through Project MUSE (www.muse.jhu.edu).
For individual and student subscribers: After we have processed your subscription, you will receive an automated email from Project MUSE with instructions on how to create an account on the Project MUSE website to access Communio.
For institutions: Please make sure to provide the IP addresses that should be given access. After we have processed your subscription, those IP addresses will be given access directly by Project MUSE.

How do I know which subscription rate I should select?
If you are not a student and you’re purchasing a personal subscription, please select “individual.” If you are an active student at a seminary, university, or graduate school/institute and you’re purchasing a personal subscription, you may select a “student” rate. (In this case, please let us know which institution you belong to in the “comments” section at checkout.) If you are purchasing a subscription on behalf of an organization—library, university, seminary, abbey, convent, institute, communal house, etc.—please select a rate under “institution.” If the appropriate rate is not selected, we will cancel and refund your order.

How can I renew my subscription?
To renew your subscription, you can purchase the appropriate subscription through the website. We will apply the renewal toward your account based on the name and contact information that you provide under “shipping.”

What exactly will I get access to with a print+digital subscription?
Your print subscription will give you access to 4 issues (1 volume/1 year), starting with the forthcoming issue. Your digital subscription gives you access to the entire catalogue of Communio currently available on Project MUSE. (Please note that this may not give you access to the same issues you will receive in print.)

SHIPPING:

How much will I pay for shipping?
Subscriptions: U.S. subscriptions ship free. There is an additional shipping cost for each international subscription ($25), which will be applied in the cart.
Back Issues: Depending on the destination and the number of issues purchased, the website will calculate the appropriate shipping amount automatically. U.S. orders will ship with USPS. International orders will ship with one of the following services: USPS, FedEx, or UPS. If the shipping charge comes up to $199 and you would like to get a more accurate rate, please contact us at communio.ea@gmail.com.

I’m worried my order will not make it. Can I get special delivery?
Absolutely. We can ship with FedEx or UPS. Just send us an email at communio.ea@gmail.com stating what you would like to order and your shipping address, and we’ll send you a quote for special delivery.
